This noindex test build accepts name searches and records form submissions for review. Stripe payments and matched-record views are not enabled.
What information does the service use?
The service may need to handle:
- names entered into the search;
- account names and email addresses where an account is provided;
- information needed to manage credits and payment references;
- details sent with contact enquiries, record claims, correction requests or removal requests; and
- limited technical records needed to run the service, investigate faults and prevent misuse.
We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed for these purposes.
Where does the licence information come from?
The name check is based on dated Great Britain operator-licence information published through official government sources.
A useful source is the Traffic Commissioners goods and public service vehicle operator-licence records.
Transport Manager Check is not an official register of individual Transport Managers.
Northern Ireland uses a different operator-licensing system and is not covered by this Great Britain check.
Why will information be used?
Information may be used to provide requested searches, show confirmed matched records and manage customer accounts or credits.
It may also be needed to deal with record claims, correction requests, service problems, payment queries and suspected misuse.
Payments
The intended live service will use Stripe for one-time payments.
Stripe will handle payment-card information needed to process those transactions. Transport Manager Check does not intend to store full card details.
Stripe payments are not connected on this test build.
Claims, corrections and removal requests
Information supplied with a claim or record request will be used to identify the relevant record and consider the request.
We may ask for further information where something specific needs checking, but requests should be handled proportionately.
Correction and removal requests will not require a passport or home address as a routine first step.
Sharing information
The live service may use suppliers for hosting, email, payment processing and other work needed to provide the service.
Information may also be disclosed where this is required by law or reasonably necessary to deal with fraud, disputes or formal enquiries.
Transport Manager Check does not provide bulk lists of individual contact details for resale.
How long will information be kept?
Information should be kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose concerned.
Different periods may apply to account records, payments, service logs, claims and correction requests.
Your choices and rights
You can ask about information held about you and request corrections where information is inaccurate.
You may also have rights to ask for deletion, restriction or other action under UK data protection law.
Requests will be considered individually because the appropriate response can depend on the information, its source and why it is used.
